myBins - Taking every precaution with COVID-19

Due to providing an essential and sanitation service, myBins will operate as usual through the COVID-19 crisis.

myBins has taken every precaution and have closely followed the advice from the Australian government to ensure the safety of our employees and customers with the outbreak of COVID-19. 

Our employees use the following process through out the day to ensure their safety and the safety of those around them:

• Clean their hands. This is done with either liquid soap and running water or alcohol- based hand rub.
• Put on protective eyewear to protect their eyes from the cleaning fluids while cleaning bins.
• Put on gloves when necessary

The purpose of personal protective equipment is to reduce the risk of direct contact with contaminated surfaces.
Once cleaning/ bin moving is completed, all disposable cleaning items are placed in rubbish bags. Waste does not need any additional handling or treatment measures. Reusable cleaning items, such as mop heads, are cleaned as per the cleaning recommendations below.

• Remove and dispose of gloves. The outside of  gloves is contaminated. Remove gloves being careful not to contaminate bare  hands during glove removal.
• Employees clean their hands. This is done with either  liquid soap and running water or alcohol-based hand rub.
• Personal protective equipment are disposed  into general waste bags and tied up 
• Before entering a bin area, employees disinfect their hands.
• When employees enter the bin room area, they avoid touching anything that doesn't need to be touched and swiftly remove/put away wheelie bins.
